have you gone for all the same. e.g. a beech floor and beech furniture, or have you gone for a different wood?

and what looks best?

Mixture here - cream kitchen with beech kickboards and beech floor, dark wood table and chairs with chocolate sofas (open plan kitchen/family room).

Personally, I like to mix it up a bit - old with new etc otherwise it can look a bit too co-ordinated I think!

I have a green laminate floor, with pine furniture

Cherry floors here. kitchen units are birch and worktops are beech, I think it's better to mix it up too. Sitting room furniture is mahogany. Total mish mash at our house, but house is old so can take it. If our house was modern i'd be tempted to co-ordinate more maybe.

I have all different colours. have light wooden oak floors, with antique furniture from dh's granny in hall which looks totally out of place but everyone comments how lovely it is so who cares! rooms are mish mash, I think the whole lot in one colour could look a bit ikea, although that's what I'm telling myself anyway!

Think matching is fine for a kitchen provided it is broken up with accessories/work tops but a bit bland for a living area or bedroom. We used to have light laminate with cream furniture.

another mish-mash here. Ligh oak floors, cherry bed, dark oak drawers, very dark teak wardrobes. I tell myself that wood is essentially neutral. It's a bit like green in your garden. you don;t really even notice it. That's my theory and now that I finally do have all the bedroom furniture I want and have finally had the floorboards polished and stained I ain't changing my mind. Not planning on buying new bed or wardrobes ever again basically. so that's it.

I have beech furniture, and was planning on having beech floor when we had it done, but when I put the sample against existing furniture it looked a bit too much IYKWIM, so we ended up with French pine - I think!

we're startign a room from scratch and at the moment all we have is a midnight blue couch, we have seen some nice pine furniture but are unsure as to what colour floor to go for. Dh thinks that the drak couch will look better against a lighter floor but I'm not sure about the pine on a light floor!

living room - pine floorboards, some oak, some birch furniture, brown leather sofas. Matches pretty well without being too similar
