I control all the money and DH's wages go into my account. He took the bankcard this morning to get petrol and lunches for the kids, then he was going to work. I had enough money on me for lunch and also I can use my Visa in an emergency. Anyway....

....DH phones me at work to say he can't get any money out of the account!!! He has NO money at all on him. Petrol light flashing.

I say no probs and phone the bank to transfer money from our ISA. Bank tells me that will take 2 hours to be available! WTF???? Its from one BoS account to another!!!!

BUT they suggested that.....

If I wanted to extend my overdraft then the funds would be available immediately!!!! SO they offered me credit immediately.... but no access to MY savings for 2 hours!

So I had to increase my overdraft by 50 quid instead of transferring 50 from my savings.

How wrong is that?????????

Then when I tried to phone DH back to tell him there was money, he had left the phone off the hook and wasn't answering his mobile. Half an hour later the phone is back on the hook and when I get through he cracks up at MEEEEEEEE coz now he's late for work and apparently I don't appreciate how much stress this has put HIM under!

F*cking raging I am.

They'll probably make you go down in person, or in writing to cancel the overdraft too.

FangAche · 20/10/2005 10:21

Disgraceful!!

I'm still fumin'!

Just texted DH to tell him he's an idiot.... just in case he had forgotten.

lol - what a nightmare.

We had a letter from the bank this morning - in response to some that DH sent about various accounts/credit card/loans etc etc wtih them and our debts.

First paragraph went something along these lines

"unfortunately the signature which you gave to authorise the giving out of the details you have requested does not match the one on our records"

It then goes on to give the details if we wish to pass them on............ which gave the figures owing on the overdraft (£750 over the limit eeeek), the loan and the flexiloan.......

QoQ - OMG!

Which bank is this????

HSBC (I'm presuming the 'pass them on' bit was aimed at us - as we'd asked for the details so that we have exact figures for DH's next appointment with CAB - so I'm thinking the "pass them on" was in regards to us giving them to HSBC.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 20/10/2005 10:34

He has finally agreed to CAB....Alleluia.

Praise the Lord.

HRHQoQ · 20/10/2005 10:54

yes - remember the day I'd posted to say I'd stayed at a friends house the night before (about 1 1/2 weeks ago). well when I got back he went to CAB (apparently "Useful, but told me a lot of what I already knew" - but has another appointment with them on the 2nd November......great - after the next lots of bills "won't" be paid).
