hi everyone. i am 6 weeks. i have dogs, cats rabbits, ferrets, snakes, terrapins, chickens, ducks and pigs. i feed them all every day and clean the rabbits and ferrets out twice a week. cleaning them out is making me sneeze a lot and my throat gets sore after doing it.
is it ok for me to be in close contact with all these animals.
thanks for any help

There is arisk of toxiplasmosis (think that is it from Poo)
so long as you wer gloves and wash hands very well after according to my book not a prob but it only deals with cats and dogs

cat poo & sheep can both carry toxoplasmosis. i'd get dh to do everything!

As long as you practice good hygiene and double wrap any old bedding/faeces then you will be fine.
Make sure you wash hands after handling reptiles as they can transmit salmonella from their skin.
I dealt with cats, incontinent dog and guinea pigs throughout last pregnancy and was fine

i was told not to go near kittens at all or cat poo, and i kept away from other poo as the smell made me retch, but other than that i think its ok.

rabbits r fine...i checked with both my DS's and MW said it was just sheep to steer clear of altogether and cats to be very careful with

I'm sure there is something about snakes too thats harmful when pregnant but i forget what it is.
