I do believe that we are best at interpreting our own dreams, but in this case I can't quite work out what my subconcious was saying. I'd appreciate your thoughts.
I was on a train with my dear Granny. She is old, frail and almost blind. The train pulled into her stop, we said our goodbyes and she got off. I realised that she would be unable to make her way onward by herself so I slipped out of the train behind her. It was dark and spooky outside the train station. She was unsteady on her feet, and completely unable to see. I silently hovered around her, gently guiding her away from a large hole in the ground, and moving things that she might trip over as she tottered on her way. I stopped a car as she wandered across the road.
It was absolutely vital that she didn't know I had got off the train with her.
Then she sensed that someone was with her and called out, asking who was there. I didn't answer. We carried on for quite a way with me stopping anything from hurting her, and her getting increasingly terrified about the person silently following her - me.
Soon she was crying, and calling out over and over again "whoever you are, you're MEAN. You're being MEAN. You're frightening an old lady and it's a MEAN thing to do".
I still couldn't say anything. I don't know why, but it was better that she was frightened but safe, than for me to admit it was me.
I woke up suddenly, feeling very upset, and the dream has stayed with me all day.

I can give real life info too, but I would be interested to know what anyone thinks was going on in the dream alone.
