Is my neighbours house a knocking shop?

Or at the very least a midweek shag house.

As you know we've just moved into the street, at our end it's a very quiet culde scan of about 6 houses. Anyway have met most of the neightbours etc and as I'm at home during the day am getting to know their schedules (sad I know).

Anyway previous owners reckoned that one of the houses across the road was being used as an shag house and I think they are right. No one lives in the house day to day (it's a 3 bed semi quite large) but once or twice a week a silver car pulls up and a 40 something bloke goes into the house, then about 30 mins later a green car pulls up and a woman goes into the house. The blinds and windows are opened and they stay about 2 hours tops. They have been doing this once or twice a week since we moved in. I reckon they are having an affair and got there for a shag. But it's strange as their not cheap houses (as opposed to 1 bed flats) and if it were an investment would you not put tenants in it and collect rent?

Sorry need someone to gossip to about this (DD too young)?

yes sounds very possible - why not check the electoral roll in your road and find out the name of hte person who owns it - for no other reason than pure noseyness. At least you can give the guy a name then. If no one is registered on electoral roll then try doing a land registry search - costs about £2.

skinnycow · 14/10/2005 16:57

and also just for fun, next time they go in, run over with a basket of cookies and welcome them to your road - see how they behave

Sounds dodgy but if they were shagging and only saw each other rarely wouldn't you shut the windows so not to be heard?

codface · 14/10/2005 16:59

yes lets provate eye him
ooh ohoh lets
( not such excitement since old thomcats mate)

MassacreOHara · 14/10/2005 17:00

Maybe they are looking after the house for somebody who's living abroad. Go and air the place, quick clean and a quick shag whilst they're at it for a bit of fun.,

skinnycow · 14/10/2005 17:00

oh yes thomcat's mate! what happened in the end?

DP says we'll have to take down the blinds and get some nets does it take 2 of them 2 hours to air it. You don't decorate wearing a suit though. Expensive place to have a bit of afternoon nookie though.

Think I'm jealous of people having afternoon sex!

Think the electoral roll is going a bit far though.

Any idea how long they've been at it ? Could they be Letting Agents servicing the property in between tenants ?

Ex owner told us about it when we viewed the house in March so it's been going on a while.

a morgage on a 3 bed semi may be less than a hotel room charges in a months total though

sweetkitty · 14/10/2005 18:22

True maybe they're loaded and bought it cash cos they are members of an underworld crime organisation and use it to stash money and stuff.

(I reckon I have to get out more!)
