Advice to get rid of sick smell on mattress

DD was sick last night and it soaked through to her mattress. I washed it down and sprayed some milton on it but wondered what else I could do to clean it and get rid of the smell?

Any advice appreciated......

white vinger with bicarb

agree bicarb is the best for getting rid of smells

let it dry now, then have a really good go with the febreze.

This happened with ds's carpet a while ago, and I was sure we would never get the smell to go, but put lots of febreze on it, and it went completely (as did the smell of febreze itself, which I dislike anyway)

will try febreze- thanks!

would be wary of chemicals being inhaled from the febreze & also the sick. How old is DD ?

Does the mattress have a waterproof backing which is smelling or is it a cloth covering ? I would put it outside to air & buy a mattress cover. John Lewis sell a good one for £10 & one of the waterproof backed pads is a good idea. DD wet the bed the other day & the waterproof pad caught it all.

As long as the febreze has dried before the child uses the mattress I can't see there would be any particular risk.

I would prob turn the mattress round anyway mind you.
