so thought it would be interesting to discuss

The idea of 'black' culture is really thick...we wouldn't talk about 'white' culture would we.
Really need to be more specific if one is going to make such inflammatory statements.

'culture' encompasses lots of things if someone said to me 'back culture' my first thought would be (too simplistic?) would be black music - soul music and rhythm and blues - I grew up on it.

Culture is more of a background/group/area thing I think

eg in London often white kids are into black culture (as it is labelled) because they have grown up together and "like" similar things.

Maybe?

I think there are a number of different 'black cultures'. Not homgenous, but 'black urban S london culture' for example, - yes, there is! And it is differnt to 'white working class culture', for example. But there is such a fine line between discussing the shared expectations and means of expression that typify 'culture', and 'stereotype'.
Since small distinct cultural groups are usually within a larger group with a common 'outer-boundary', there probably is a point at which a wide collection of black cultures can still be called 'balck culture' in comparison to a wide collection of specific cultures which make up 'white culture'.
