Bit embarrassed to do this really, I don't want any of you to think my story is worth telling or anything, but it exists so may as well tell you about it if you're interested.
It's long and probably very boring for people who don't know me so you might not want to go there, but for those of you who possibly have an interest in birth stories or children with special needs esp Down's Syndrome have a look atthis My little girl is Charlotte by the way.
I posted it on the special needs section because Fio asked me about it but thought I'd bring the story outside the box so to speak!!
Anyway, it's not particulary interesting or anything but like I said it exists so here you are!

WSM ... no Ali isn't on the wrong thread! ... further down they are talking about meeting up and that is what Ali is referring too I think

TC. Goegeous! I really loved reading your story. Your obvious character and attitude is a real inspiration. You made me want to go and get my dd up out of bed (its 7.50pm here) and just cuddle and love her. Thanks for sharing a bit of your life with us.
Beautiful!

RushingAround · 10/09/2003 12:48

Note to self - BUTT OUT !

quackers · 10/09/2003 14:10

I think it was your picture of Lottie that is just SO cute, what a lamb.

bobsmum · 10/09/2003 14:45

Watford-ish people meetup- there's the newish shopping area with Borders/Starbucks, huuuuuuuge Next/Boots and a Mamas & Papas. It's next to the giant Tesco. Borders has a nice kids book section with tables etc, but unsupervised. Starbucks is always crammed with kids and pg women because of M&P next door.

Claireandrich · 10/09/2003 19:40

What a beautiful heart felt story. Your little girl's picture is lovely.

Eeek · 10/09/2003 19:45

just read your story. Oh, how LOVELY!

alibubbles · 10/09/2003 20:11

How strange, I posted a reply about Bobsmum's suggestion. but it is not here??!!
I think Borders is great, it is the Waterfields business park, Starbucks is quite large though and a lift and baby changing room. Lots of space in the book shop to run around!

DH would confiscate my credit card as I have a serious book habit and spend a fortune in Borders.

cazzybabs · 10/09/2003 20:57

Thank you for sharing your story....it helped remind me how precious life is. I am trying not to be all sentimental, but I do have a tear ib my eye (I was never this emotional pre-dd). Anyway better go and resuce an overtired dd from daddy watching the football and get him to read your story (if thats OK). Please give Lottie a cuddle from me...she sounds amazing.

tigermoth · 10/09/2003 22:58

Thomcat, lottie looks gorgeous - so full of happiness and lots of character. I read your story and really admire the way you've just got on with it and done things your way, celebrated christmas at home with lottie rather than getting the counselling the docs were trying to push down your throat, etc. You sound so positive. I'm glad you've found your way to mumsnet

jasper · 11/09/2003 00:27
