Ooh I'd like a day of being someone at Malory Towers.

frannykenstein · 09/10/2005 21:05

I would be Ruth in K.M. Peyton's Pennington books - have had a total crush on Patrick Pennington since I was 12.

expatinscotland · 09/10/2005 21:06

Hermoine Granger.

The Pricess who slept for 100 years.....that would do me nicely

kipper when he makes the brthday cake

Whizzz · 09/10/2005 21:10

I read that Kipper one to DS tonight!

Funny we have all plumped for children's books so far - must be the escapism. Another choice of mine would be someone from a Noel Streatfeild novel, probably Pauline from 'Ballet Shoes', or Harriet from 'White Boots'.

"i have made a ............."

katymac · 09/10/2005 21:17

Lissa or Menolly from the Anne McCaffery Dragon books
or Talia from Arrows of the Queen

Which I am sure no-one has heard of

hunkerpumpkin · 09/10/2005 21:18

What?! Noddy's a children's book?!

Blossomhowl · 09/10/2005 21:20

Harry Potter

frannykenstein · 09/10/2005 21:23

Lissa or Menolly are good choices, Katymac. I'd also like to be Morgaine from 'The Mists of Avalon'. [blush} More escapism (and some shagging)

weesaidie · 09/10/2005 21:38

Elizabeth Bennet

allhallows · 09/10/2005 21:38

Tigger.

Nelsonsgirl · 09/10/2005 21:40

Horatio Hornblower. He was modelled on my hero and namesake.

roisin · 09/10/2005 21:43

Jane Austen's Emma

Goldfish · 09/10/2005 21:49

Someone in a Danielle Steel book, as they are always beautiful, rich and skinny.

mrsdarcy · 09/10/2005 21:59

Mr Toad

saadia · 09/10/2005 22:18

I would definitely be either Jane Eyre or Fanny Price from Mansfield Park.

huggybear · 09/10/2005 22:19

Hermionie granger

saadia · 09/10/2005 22:20

Oh no I misread, you're asking who would you like to be (penny has dropped). In that case I would be Emma - "handsome, clever and rich".

paolosgirl · 09/10/2005 22:21

Lizzie Bennett. Then I'd get to do it with Colin Firth and Matthew MacFadyen, and live in a big house

fullmoonfiend · 10/10/2005 14:31

Prue Sarn in Precious Bane. She is a wonderful person but has a shit life, cursed with a harelip, everyone she loves dying and nearly drowned as a witch - but then gets swept off her feet by the gorgeous weaver Kester Woodseaves, who loves her for she is, not what she looks like. Then they get to ride off to his cosy weavers' cottage and... sigh
