I have 2 new tops, both with grease stains, both have been washed by dp, prob at 40, and both still have grease stains. Do I chuck them or is there anything I can do? TIA.

try rubbing in washing up liquid and washing them again - sometimes works!

I heard talc is good but thats probably before washing but you could dampen the spot i suppose. Sorry not very helpful.

Ive used ordinary bathroom soap on a grease spots prior to washing and this has done the trick.

The Stain Devils for grease will get it out. Sprinkle it on and chuck it in the wash.

vanish liquid works. i wash everything at 60 though.

What about trying the brown paper and warm iron like you do for candle wax? Otherwise, stain devils are fab.

Yep, try washing-up liquid or some spray (I get the big bottle from Lidl) on the stains, or put Vanish powder in with a 40 degree wash, that's supposed to work...

Thanks everyone. They were reasonably expensive tops (and only worn once each, sob!) so I will give some of these a go and I'll let you know if anything works.

Wondermom, um, you've lurked and come here just to post on this thread because, what, I once disagreed with you about children and weddings? Hmm, I think you're the one who needs to get a life tbh. But you won't read tihs will you, because you've gone. Anyway, I have a great life thanks very much but I have a feeling you don't if you're still carrying a grudge from a long ago thread. I disagreed with you and so did plenty of others, I think you need to get over it.
