is it ok to eat it or not?

Raw so techincally probably not.

I would have when pregnant, but only if in vacuum pack and if I had just opened the packet. Wouldn't eat it the next day.

but it's not raw is it? The smoking is what cooks it.

BaronessMarsLady · 09/10/2005 09:48

I ate it! Very happily

cupcakes · 09/10/2005 09:58

It's so good for you and the foetus that I would keep it eating it!

BattyBadgerBadger · 09/10/2005 10:15

I craved it with both pregnancies! I ate quite a lot of it, I do wish I'd had a cheaper craving though

Fish oils are very good during pregnancy, good for brain development IIRC and smoked fish isn't raw fish really.

My midwife said definitely not. No smoked fish or meat that is smoked instead of being cooked (no parma ham either).

BattyBadgerBadger · 09/10/2005 10:21

My two said it was fine

I'm sorry juice, I don't know where you'd be able to find the correct answer, opinions seem to vary!

projectmanagerCOd · 09/10/2005 10:21

why on earth not?

TheRtHonBaronessEnidOBE · 09/10/2005 10:24

god i hope so

cori · 09/10/2005 10:57

I have been eating it, and also seem to be developing a craving for it. Especially the yummy smoked salmon parcels in the Tescos finest range. I hope it s Ok.

Found a good link here about what you can and cant eat. Says smoked salmon is considered safe in the UK
