nightclubs / dancing in london or really nice bar

Does anyone still go dancing in London? My friends have said that no one minds paying for their own meal, so I have decided to go out for a nice meal for my 30th birthday, but afterwards I don't just want to go home. Where can people go dancing in London where there will be 80s/90s music, or at least music with a tune, and not full of cloned twentysomethings taking drugs? Or, can anyone recommend a really nice bar where you can hear each other talking?

Where in London and on what night a Friday or a Saturday, makes all the difference you know!

Oh, just noticed the 80's / 90's music bit - not going to be able to help after all. I went to an 80's night once in Camden, but can't help anymor than that. Take a flick through Time Out.
