Yes they do. But they don't clear you of nits as the little blighters can live in those millimetres closest to your scalp that the straighteners don't reach.

Yes I thought that might be the case.

I just wrenched myself away from MN to do more useful stuff - googled 'nits hair straighteners' and whaddgaya know, it's brought me straight back onto MN again, Grin

I spotted an egg this morning on DD, so am going to give it a try with the straighteners at least.

why don;t you just use the nit shampoo Hmm
Surely better idea as at least you know they will get rid..?

Have you tried the timotei kids shampoo and conditioning spray..? I use it on dd and ds and so far touch wood no nits.

Contains tea tree which nits hate.

Worth using as a defence daily.

Shhh because they often don't work. I take it you haven't heard that the lice develop resistance to the chemicals? Hmm

Ah - just saw that you haven't had them yet...
Good luck with the nit shampoos. Grin

only a bit of advice I offered.

Shhh it was your Hmm that got my back up slightly - made me feel like saying Hmm backatcha.

I hope when your DD gets them, the shampoos do the trick, but when you've spent months on end trying to rid your DD of the bloodsucking little fuckers, you might feel less confident in them. Wink

AFWIW I did DD with the straighteners and I could hear the live eggs sizzle. Very satisfying. Grin It made the hair easier to comb through with the nit comb, too. Wink
