may be getting charged extra on road tax? is that true?

dunno.... but my 4x4 does 31 mpg.... not ALL of them are petrol guzzlers (OK I admit a jeep cherokee does about 15mpg but you would have to be a moron to drive one).

I was thinking of getting a Mini Cooper as an economical little runaround when I didn't need the big car but it has about the same petrol consumption as my landcruiser. WHy? It weighs about a quarter as much... mystery

they do already pay more. don't know if it's going to up.

not getting one. says he read it in the paper, but didnt know much about it. was just wondering if it was true.

you see, dh and I had this row only the other night. diesels do get a higher mpg and have lower co2 emissions, but that is kind of cancelled out by the particles they pump into the air - hence higher road tax (I think).

that's a rubbish mpg for a mini though. get a corsa or something normal like that.

the row was "if we had the money to get an audi, should we get a diesel one with leather seats or what?" in case you're interested.

I hope not I have one as I tow a trailer accross muddy fields and boats onto beaches. Not for looking cool on the school run.
