My dad found his sister that he hadn't seen or heard from for about 15 years. I've been in touch with a few school friends. I paid once when I first joined but have never bothered to re-new it!

RTKMonherBroomstick · 03/10/2005 19:55

I have been a member for 4 years but have never paid

I have been contacted by 3 school frinds though

they are millionaires now the couple who started it

I've been contacted by two girls who were in my form and one girl I was at university with.

I must admit, I wouldn't have contacted them first. I'm not really bothered about staying in close touch with them, though it was nice to catch up and I enjoy having emails from them now and again.

Unfortunately, one of them wants to meet up more regularly. I go along with it every few months because I'm not sure how to say no, but we really have nothing in common, and after we had remembered all the old times, I didn't feel we had much more to say. However, she keeps making noises about our husbands meeting one another. Without sounding rude, they have nothing in common (at least this girl and I have some shared memories), so I'm forever making excuses. One day I'm going to have to be straight with her

I wish I'd thought of the idea - that's what!

I don't think the site is very up-to-date as lots of people have tired of it now. A few years ago everyone wanted to join so the details were current, but I find the details that are up are from 2000/2001. Mine are out of date - I've already been contacted by anyone that I was vaguely interested in and I can't be bothered to check it anymore.
I don't think it's worth the money, to be honest.

WideWebWitch · 03/10/2005 20:12

I think it's interesting for about 5 minutes and therefore worth the fiver for nosiness for one year. But boring thereafter: there is a reason you didn't stay in touch for 25 years! look at Jacky Fleming on the subject here!

RTKMonherBroomstick · 03/10/2005 20:15

but you don't need to pay anything to read the profiles or look at photos

you just pay if you want to SEND a message

I haven't paid and can still receive messagfes into my inbox

www - I disagree about there 'being a reason'......well I supposed you're correct in one way - good friend and I were both absoultey cr*p letter writers (still are LOL), and therefore when I went to Zimbabwe we lost touch. spent 4yrs looking for her when I got back - but to no avail, then last September she (finally) registered for FR.

I immidiately payed up and contacted her, and we're still in regular touch now - neither of us have changed that much, still as scatty as ever, and although she's now moved further away (so don't see each other anymore) still in regular contact.
