Do you have to go around washing grubby bits and painting over scratches or it it just me and my cheap paint/grubby kids?

no same here, i keep a seller going on ebay i think by buying his magic sponges which removes crayon from walls.

Can I let you in on a secret?

It's not just magnolia walls, my raspberry pink ones look like that too!

ScreamEagle · 03/10/2005 11:08

ALL my walls are like that!!!

Kidstrack2 · 03/10/2005 11:10

Yeah we have a pale stone colour and it always gets grubby, I wipe it with sugar soap and then paint over it every few months, think next time I will buy washable vinyl silk instead of the matt.

I had green/burgandy/purple and yellow walls in my last house, hence the need for magnolia in this one I have no colour sense! The dirt must have been hidden by the grim colour scheme

apparently you can get [ i found out too late] a matt glaze /varnish athat can go over your ordinary paint and its totally washable/ does knock/stain or anything and when you want to repaint you can as normal over the top , i found it in a specialised paint shop and they use it on all their walls and test colour boards in the shop to prevent marks from customers, well worth it but now im deciding whether its worth it now ive got the marks and knocks , maybe when i repaint the for sure i will!!!

No, I painted ours w/Dulux wipe clean matte I found in Bernardo's for £1.50/litre. It's totally washable.

Mine is wipe clean matt by crown, but not totally washable, i can take the odd mark off with a cloth, but the thing that annoys me is the little scrape like marks that don't budge, hence the painting over it again!

We hadn't brought the car, charlie, but I didn't care! I waited on that street w/loads of that paint for half an hour whilst DH ran home and got the car. NO WAY we were leaving that stuff there! The landlord was thrilled. They even sent a painter round to help us!
