A friend has kindly donated her travel cot/playpen. I'd like to use it as both, but I'm thinking that baby might think it's playtime when I put her to bed, IYSWIM

Any experiences of these??

spo will you move it from room to room? sounds like a lot of hassle tbh

I was worried about this when we used his travelcot on holiday.
He settled down fine though.
Toys in cot during the day and toys out at night, put cot bedding in and his one Sleeping partner teddy.
Good as gold.

I was thinking of using it as a playpen at home but as a cot when away.

Yup, the familiar bedding might be the key

My 15mth DS3 has a babyden (the hexagonal one) which I put him to sleep in during the day. This came about as diectly after I had him, I had a major Lupus flare (bad joints) and couldn't carry him upstairs to his cot. I couldn't carry him down either, but DH or 11yr old DS1 always brought him down for me before work/school.

This worked out really well, and although my Lupus has stabilised, he still uses it to sleep during the day. He will even put himself in there when he is tired, and is quite happy to play in there when he wakes up so that I can finish off whatever piece of work I am currently on (I work 15hours a week from home).

I think whatever you do, familiarity is the key
