she is 12 months old and is very active (she was the same when she was inside me and midwife couldnt keep up with her to listen to her heart on the microphone thingy) as she is on the go on the time. She is nuts, very loud, very strong (plus she is big and tall for her age).
yesterday at the playcentre, she crawled over a 8 months old small baby boy who was learning to crawl and my baba just trodded (crawled over) on him but he was ok.

And these 2 mums were holding their little ones, my baba just barged (crawled) thru between them and one of the mums said jokingly "look who is barging thru"!!!

i find it funny but she doesnt understand not to squash the poor baby boy!

also she is called a "livewire" by my HV!... and last week a nurse said that my baba is very social

There's no way you can really tell at 12 months what she'll be like later on. 12 month old babies are loud, they do crawl over anything in their way (including other babies) - of course she doesn't understand not to squash the baby, she's still a baby herself.

It's best to try not to label her as anything - she's barely had chance to develop her own personality yet.

so when does their personality actually develop?

It's developing now ... but it won't be fully developed for ages yet. She's a baby, she has no idea yet that it hurts when she crawls all over people, she hasn't worked out yet that anyone else has feelings, she sees what she wants and bugger anyone else - most 12 month old babies do.

It would be interesting to know how she "turns out" - post again in 5 years time! Have a feeling that they are more formed than we might think at quite early ages though. But agree to avoid labelling as it can easily become a self fulfilling prophecy.

yeah i agree with you merry.. oh well ill just wait
