Tell me all about Blue eyes

DS's eyes look green or gray or blue at a glance, but close up they are steel blue/pale-grey on the outside and yellow on the inside. I think DD's eyes are turning the same.

I don't know whether to describe them as A) gray, B) green, C) blue, D) blue-yellow, E) steel blue, or ...? How would you describe them? Is this a common combination (blue outside/yellow inside) for blue-eyed people?

If I had to fill in a form with my son's eye colour, I honestly wouldn't know what to put.

How old is he??

Dd has odd coloured eyes, even now in some photos she's got blue eyes and in others they are definatly brown, they appear this way in day to day light, so I too wouldn't know what to put if asked what colour her eyes are.

DS and I have gray/blue eyes with the yellow ring in the center. I don't know how common it is (but I don't think it's rare), I always put "blue" for eyecolour in forms.

DS is 4 in November. DD will be 2 in October, and her eyes are now exactly the way her brother's were at her age (solid steel blue).

Sorry to sound silly about blue eyes, but they are kind of unusual in my & DH's families; DH's are medium brown & mine are almost black, in fact.

zebra, mine all started off plain lovely blue when little but now they are all variations of blue - DS1's eyes are very like your description of your DS's, but as well as the yellow middles his also have a darker circle round the outside.

DD1's are greeny - DD2's are the bluest (but still not very) - just had a good look at DS2's (he wears specs all the time so I don't usually see them!) and his are very like DS1's except that the outer circle isn't as dark.

I love true blue eyes, was a bit sad when they all changed! I think I would probably put blue for all 4, but in fact the boys' look grey from a distance.

Mine are 'carribean sea blue' but when I feel ill they go really grey. My dad has the most incredible ice blue eyes ever - the actually look fake sometimes! DD's are the deepest blue you will ever see.

DS1 has brown eyes with an undertone of amber which makes them light up. DS2 has huge grey eyes with hazel flecks in them and they pick up the colour of whatever he's wearing. We have a fantastic picture where they're bottle green because of the top he's wearing. My eyes are hazel and DHs are blue.

I'd suggest you don't use the word "yellow" anywhere in your description of eye colour - makes him sould like a werewolf or something!!

zebra strangely I have the same prob with one of my cars. I think it's green. On the reg doc it says it's silver and the log book says blue.

I would call your DS's eyes blue myself.
