DD2 managed to pull a chest of drawers on top of herself, I ran downstairs (drawers at the bottom of stairs) and screamed at DH to help. She is ok luckily, just a graze on her face and legs.

Thank goodness she is Ok! That sort of thing just makes you feel sick dosn't it!!!

edam · 30/09/2005 09:51

OMG indeed. So glad she's OK. I know we should bolt all these things to the wall but it's one of those things we've never got round to...

She was very upset for ages afterwards, but she calmed down while DH was cuddling her and checking her over.

I remember that, lockets, she was pinned between the bottom step and the drawers.

lockets, that incident sprang to my mind when I saw the thread title . Thank god she's ok mieow. Dh screwed our bookcase to the wall (in a rented house - eek) and I thought it was unnecessary, but I've changed my mind since!

sparklymieow · 30/09/2005 09:56

She is 4 next week, but so little for her age. I just freaked when I saw it on top of her....

Can't screw it to the wall as its in front of the front door window. I think I will move it now.

I think I'll get DH to screw DD wardrobe to the wall... always been worried about it

Miaou · 30/09/2005 10:06

Are you ok, mieow?

NannyL · 30/09/2005 10:33

OMG poor thing

at least she ok.

Alesson to us all... be sure to use wall ties with all heavy furnirute, shelve units etc

Fauve · 30/09/2005 10:39

What are wall ties?

sparklymieow · 30/09/2005 10:41

I'm fine, was shocked tbh, I couldn't lift it either, DH had to help me and he scooped DD2 out.

NannyL · 30/09/2005 10:59

wall ties are these loop things that you screm onto furniture and then onto the wall.

it means the furntiuture cant fall over

my charges have them on their bedroom shelving units

sparklymieow · 30/09/2005 11:00

I will get some of those, it was scary!!

sunnydelight · 30/09/2005 11:52

Thank goodness your DH was there to help. Hope you're all ok now.

Fauve · 30/09/2005 11:58

Thanks for that, NannyL, sorry for abrupt question - glad to hear you're OK, sparklymieow. What a relief she was unhurt.
