you just need to keep trying!
Have you sent in your earnings etc?

doormat · 28/09/2005 12:02

fio the system stinks, the sooner they overhaul it the better
as for practical advice go to your CAB and they should be able to help you
btw back on internet lol

flamebat · 28/09/2005 12:03

I find it takes a minimum of 3 phone calls giving them the same details before they tell you the right amount.

waterfalls · 28/09/2005 12:03

When you do it online, it is only an estimate as it does not take into consideration your earnings from last year, is it possible you are paying back money owed?

Fio2 · 28/09/2005 12:05

yep, i am about to headbutt someone. I should be being awarded higher as earning have gone down and also they are not putting on the system that my dd gets higher rate DLA care and mobility. i ahve to keep telling them over and over and over

computer says nooooooo

I phoned to tell them I was on matty leave and that my income was going down and they took money off me. Have just rang to say that child no two has arrived and asked how that affects our tax credits and was told ohh wait and see what the letter says!!!!!!

oliveoil · 28/09/2005 15:35

I haven't even applied as just to get a tax rebate after coming back from travelling made me want to throw myself under a bus.

Me: I was born here!
Man: Ah, but you have been out of the country for over a year.
Me: Yes but I was travelling, I was born here.
Man: Ah, but the computer can't send you a form for that. What country are you from?
Me: Arrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

mumfor1sttime · 28/09/2005 15:38

I told them 3 times that I am part time now, and not full time. I dont see the point in the whole system, its so complicated the way that you use the whole years earnings- also find it stupid how you have to work it out yourself!
ie. take £100 a week off for mat leave take money off for paternity leave etc Mad.

merglemergle · 28/09/2005 15:50

They have entered our estimated earnings for 2004/5 as ACTUAL earnings for 2003/4, which I spent on ML.

Hence big overpayment letter.

They also told me that SMP cannot be deducted from income. This is incorrect (1st £100 per week can be deducted)

In 2003/4 we were overpaid, because apparently we did not have any children (this was news to me).

We have given them end of year final figures FOUR times now.

merglemergle · 28/09/2005 15:52

Oh and they are convinced that I am full time, ie +30 hrs, and actually refuse to change it on the system as "it doesn't make any difference to the amount".

Fio2 · 28/09/2005 15:57

argh, it is just useless. i am going to give up

Oh, those numpties again! I just laugh at all the letters we get these days.

doormat · 28/09/2005 15:59

they said we were overpaid just over £600 last year, and had £150 a week deducted until we paid over £1200, they never gave us a refund.I have complained but got nowhere.
