Hi Everyone,

I had a really exciting day today as I was doing my art project on Blue Peter. Thanks so much for all your ideas and input of portraits kids would recognise, it really helped to choose what I would paint on the show. I am absolutely exhausted as I started left home at 7.45am and have only just got in - it was a long day. The most nerve wracking bit was that the show was live on CBBC and they wanted to interview me! EEEKK! Anyway I don't think I made too much of a fool of myself. I'm very excited now and can't wait to see it properly on tv as its repeated tomorrow on BBC1 so look out for me at 5pm!

Thanks again for all your help and if your interested in having a nose you can see some of what I did on thier website: Blue Peter Bodypainting

The most exciting thing by far was meeting hayden Christiensen (Anakin Skywalker from the new satrwars films) who was filming for Blue Peter today and was chatting with us whilst I painted. Very exciting!

Thanks again those of you who came up with ideas!

Emma xx

What's the answer to the competition then Emma?

swedishmum · 28/09/2005 19:40

Saw it today, it was fantastic - you're so talented. Dd2 v inspired - she adores face painting already (she's 9).

Coathanger · 28/09/2005 19:48

Oh Wow! I saw it today and it was fab! Well done! Mind you, how did you manage to paint that body and not keep dropping your brush !!

Gobbledigook · 28/09/2005 20:00

Cool! Going to set it to record tomorrow!

NoPearls · 28/09/2005 20:23

So, did you get a Blue Peter Badge??????

QueenEagle · 28/09/2005 20:26

Was that you in the pink shirt?

The body painting is amazing. What a talent.

sharklet · 29/09/2005 12:49

Thanks guys.

Yes that was me in the pink shirt. Trying desperately to hold my tummy in and not slouch else my gran would have killed me!

Gethin the presenter was lovely, very handsome young lad. I was honestly concentrating too hard to really notice how good looking whilst I was painting him though. He was very patient. The funniest bit was getting the paint off afterwards. We used special tattoo ink as we painted him in the morning and he had to walk round all day with it on, so it had to be really durable. So durable he couldn't just hop in the shower to get it off - it took four girls rubbing baby oil on him for about half an hour to remove it. LOL poor lad didn't know where to look!

Bubblerock answer to the competition is Andy Warhol (its a good prize - a set of snazaroo facepaints which is a really good make!)

SwedishMum - I'm glad your DD was inspired. If she wants to get into facepaitning theres some info on the Blue Peter website Blue Peter Facepainting FactSheet or shes welcome to have a nose around my website too its Emma's website
Its great fun, I started out when I was 14. You don't actually have to be that artistic to do it well.

I'm now going to have to frame my blue peter badge and save it for when DD is a bit bigger so she can use it to get int oplaces for free - I'm so mean! It only took me until I was 31 to get one.

Emma xx

Body painting? Four girls, baby oil, shower?

Boy, has BP changed since Percy Thrower and his garden. Congratulations sharklet...

teeavee · 29/09/2005 13:33

I have worked with Gethin in the past!

sharklet · 29/09/2005 13:46

What did you work with him on TeeaVee - was it for S4C? He's a nice lad isn't he.

teeavee · 29/09/2005 13:48

yes, and yes, he is - I'm glad you enjoyed your appearance! sounds like you had fun!
He won company magazine most handsome man/most eligible batchelor or s'thing about 4 years ago

sharklet · 29/09/2005 13:50

I bet he did. My assistant snaffled a lift home from him - lucky girl. Still hes far to young for me - and I'm far too happily married. I might be painting him again soon though.

OP posts:
teeavee · 29/09/2005 13:51

oh yes..?
He WAS going out with a girl from a welsh girl band - don't know if he still is though - would you like me to find out...?

Bozza · 29/09/2005 14:01

Sounds fantastic.

sharklet · 29/09/2005 14:02

I think thats over. He was bemoaning to everyone on the show his single status. Bless him. Think he was a tad broken hearted.

OP posts:
teeavee · 29/09/2005 14:03

or letting everyone know he was available..?

sharklet · 29/09/2005 14:23
