Just have to say, there's not one teacher at dds school that isn't great. They haven't, obviously, had them all yet, but the way I see the children reacting to them makes me go all gooey.

On Friday I went to dd2's Assembly, and the respect the kids showed to their teachers, and the respect shown to them, put me in awe of their profession.

Awww, that's nice.

I'll never forget seeing a child sobbing in a playground at the end of summer term because they'd been told who their teacher was for the next year, and he said "But I wanted to be in Mr X's class!!!" Felt like it must have been so nice that Mr X was so well loved (felt a bit sorry for whoever he did have though )

Another big cheer for teachers here!

We haven't had a huge amount of experience yet but so far have been very impressed. I am continually in awe of anyone who can teach and chooses to spend their life with children, I couldn't do either, hats off to you!

I'm with you Carla. My DD's year 5/6 teacher is fan-bloody-tastic. DD has been inspired, motivated and amused like never before while in her class. All the parents are in total agreement that she is the bees knees.

Imagine the mood in the playground last week when we heard she was leaving at Christmas...

My dh is a primary school teacher and will be made up to hear such high praise for teachers.

I think they are all wonderful because the ones that teach in his school have all got the patience of saints (I don't), can make little ones laugh (I can't) and don't take it personally when they are cheeky/rude/obnoxious (I would).

hooray for nice teachers everywhere!
