Ebay. What happens if someone wants to buy something outright before the auction ends?

Is this allowed? I'm selling our car and have several interested parties. If someone was to view it and offer to buy it today though I'd be happy to let it go if the price was right, as it's costing us extra in insurance the longer we have it. Just wondering if there's a way this can be done and the item can be withdrawn from auction. Obviously Ebay will still want the listing and sale fees which is fair enough. So if any experts out there know if this is allowed and how to go about it, I'd appreciate any info. TIA

You can end the auction early if you want. Out of interest what car is it?

Ebay do not allow it this is stated in there rules, BUT many people do this and myself for one have done this too. You just have to end the auction early you also wont have an ending fee of 17.5% taken from you but you will still have to pay for the listing fee.

I bought a pair of children's sunglasses early (because of an impending holiday I couldn't wait for the auction to finish!). She'd had no other interest so she was happy to end it early for an agreed price (slightly above the starting price). So we were both happy as she might not have made a sale at all otherwise.

Thanks Qoq - that's not so bad then. At least I can end it early if I need to. Someone coming to view it a bit later on so fingers crossed.
Thanks for all the replies everyone.

They bought it!! Hooray. Am delighted. Hope they have years of happy motoring. I have removed the item from sale as I didn't know what else to do. Hope that was the right thing to do, but as they wanted it, I could no longer offer it for sale. I guess if there's any comeback from Ebay, I won't object to paying the sale fees.

There won't be any comeback, I've ended early before.

Marvellous. I'm just delighted to be not having to pay insurance on two cars! They were nice people too so I hope they're happy with it.
