Thought I would have a happy thread after all my depressing ones, we moved into our new house 2 weeks ago, it's a lovely 3 bed detached with a garden our first proper house. We were in a 2 room flat for a while so the space is great.
We completed on the flat in London a week ago the monies in the bank so to speak but don't believe it.
It has taken 14 months, one buyer pulling out leaving us up s*creek, the other one messing us around and because we were moving to Scotland and put an offer in on a house we ended up paying an extra 5K in fines for not buying on the agreed date, add in DP living apart from us for a month and a pregnancy and you can imagine the past year. I reckon the buyer pulling out at the last minute cost us over 18K which we couldn't afford to lose, we put everything into buying this place, savings, my redundancy money. We took a much reduced offer on the flat and we are not totally skint and wondering how the hell we are going to afford to live.
But we are all moved in now and at one point bankruptcy was looking like an option so I suppose we have been a bit lucky.
So now to decorate and settle doen to have this baby oh and I am never ever moving house again!
