it's the third one today. anyone know how to get my phone number off their lists? I'm sure it has been mentioned on here before. All this cold calling is driving me nuts!

TPS is very good, but a few still get through. I had one the other night, a person, sounded American, reading from a script, and I didn't wait to see what they were selling, just put the phone down. the odd thing was that seconds later, our other phone rang (a separate phone line kept for work calls only) and it was the same person reading the same script. This time, I tried the trick a MNer recommended in the past, which is to say nothing , put the phone down and walk away, leaving their phone bill to rack up and up. Came back after 5 mins to find the caller gone!

So far haven't been bothered again...

We get cold callers for TV companies, phone companies etc. But all we do is to speak English very quickly (we're in France), apologising for not understanding a word they are saying, they soon give up. You could always try sounding very foreign "I speeekez none anglish, you come vor de batroom? you eez plumber?"

TPS is only for companies trying to sell you something, not for e.g. marketing companies. If I got this right.
