eBay - what if a buyer wants to Buy It Now?

I've got a phone up for sale on eBay at the moment, just on the auction. I've had a look just now and a bidder has met the reserve price and sent me an email saying would I consider Buy It Now price? I would but I don't know how to go about it. What happens to the auction if I say yes and he accepts?

Have you got a buy it now option?

GeraldGiraffe · 19/09/2005 11:59

ah sorry no you haven't.

It is against Ebay's rules to do what he is asking so it depends whether you want to go bythe book. What he is asking is will you withdraw the item from ebay and sell to him privately. He is probably just trying to get a better deal.

I would personally not risk it, how many days do you have left on your listing?

Moomin · 19/09/2005 12:02

only 1 or 2. Thanks for that -I'll tell him no then!

just tell him highest bidder wins you never know you could make bit more money!

GeraldGiraffe · 19/09/2005 12:03

I would. He obviously thinks the price will rise!

Buy It Now prices are generally set quite high, aren't they? So even if you could agree it would be for higher than reserve and presumably higher than what he's bid so far. No-brainer really

i just got asked the same thing! i said that i am going to let it run and see how it goes.
