anyone had any odd emails from ebay members they have nothing to do with?

have just had quite a rude email from someone saying 'what has happened to my item? i will contact ebay and leave neg if you do not reply'

its not someone i have had any dealings with and just wondered if anyone else had got any of these. i am naturally suspicious so havent replied yet, not sure if i ought to or not

Has it come through the ebay internal message system? (messages displayed in "my messages".)? This is supposed to offer security against those scam emails that come straight to your email address.

good point, no it hasnt. i guess i will just ignore it. just seemed a bit of an odd thing to send someone as a scam

Have you had a look to see the feedback/record etc of the person sending the email? I have heard of unscupulous people pinching other ebay members ID to work a scam-might be worth contacting ebay to be on the safe side, in case someone has used yours?

Had one the othr day along the lines of "are you still sellitng this item, let me know either way." But clicking on a link just gave me the login screen, so I didn't touch it. Found it odd as I haven't sold anythng for a few weeks. More sophisticated that the usual ones I get though!

I would def report this to ebay.
I had an internal email once from a member asking me to donate my item to them (free) as they had has a house fire. I cheked their feed back - they had none, and had only just joined ebay. I reported it to ebay, it was a scam. Anyone else had this?!
