and i am feeling useless. what am i meant to do? am just cooking dinner, and after that what? argh, i'm, usless at this stuff.

Let them play. Am sure they will find plenty to occupy themselves with.

Get out some toys for them to play with - tea set, lego etc. Have you got dressing up clothes?

Actually it's often a bit easier for me if there is someone (nice) for mine to play with-chin up, if she has a good time then yours can go to her place and you can put your feet up next time! . decorating a biscuit with icing and sprinkles or card making has worked well if you have any baking stuff or stickers around, and they have something to take home with them which goes down well (with their parents too).

well i tried to get them to make necklaces, but that hasnt wprked. they are now playing games (hungry hippos, pick a puppy) and colouring in. dd2 has been entertaining dd1 friend more, and the friend is very taken with dd3 lol.
