How to make DP recovery from the snip special?

DP having snip in couple of weeks. I'm so grateful to him as motivation was fact that pill made me have intermittent bleeding. I said that I would have the op but he insists on doing it as it is a lot more simple op for a man than a woman. He is v squeamish but even so willing to go through the procedure. He has to take next day off work to recover so I will also take leave to keep him company. Any ideas on what I can do to make the day of recovery special? On rare occasions we are off work without the kids we have lots of sex and bath together but this is obviously out. His other recreational activities are playing golf and football but again he cannot do these when recovering. Apart from cooking him a lovely lunch my mind is blank on how to provide well deserved TLC. Any ideas?

Don't tell him about my dh who is still waiting for the all clear 2 YEARS after his snip.

If I was feeling a bit ruder I'd suggest you kiss it better, but I'm not so I won't.

Ask him what he would really like to do? Let him watch loads of sport on TV? By all accounts he'll probably be feeling OK, so maybe play it by ear.

Lonelymum is your dh an isolated case? What was his recovery like? How long off work? Most importantly how long till he could have sex again? Did he have to have a blood test before op? My DP is having a local.

I dond't know whether dh is an isolated case. He does get some negatives, but then, just when he almost has the all clear, he gets a positive again. He has been back to the consultant and was told something to explain this phenomenon away (I forget what) but now we have moved (6 months ago) and he has only just this week bothered to contact his GP and let him know so he can be tested here.

He had it done under a local anaesthetic on a Friday afternoon and was back at work on Monday but he has a desk job. I believe people who do heavy lifting etc have to have 2 weeks off. His recovery was OK. I have to say the person who did the op didn't seem to be all that delicate handed and he did look as though he had been pulled around a bit but it all healed well and he hasn't had any problems since eg with function (they mention possible problems when you go for the counselling beforehand). I can't remember how soon afterwards we had sex but it wasn't straightaway.

Don't remember anything about blood tests but I daresay he might have had something done.

I wouldn't tell your dp all this if I were you! Apart from the fact that dh has not suffered any function problems since the op, I don't think our case is very positive.

I,d say most guys just want to be left alone and sleep for a couple of days, then maybe a bit of playstation and couple of bowls of favourite soup.
