you can listen to little extracts from most music shops. www.cduniverse.com seems to have a big selection of short extracts from the albums.

I use www.limewire.com You can down load pretty much anything off it. It's called peer sharing, im not really surely what it is but I havent had any problems.

DaddyCool · 14/09/2005 17:12

just click the little music note depending on what player you have (probably windows media player) and you'll get a 30-45 second extract from it... queens of the stoneage

Whatever you do DO NOT file share. Make sure whatever programme you are using does not allow this or instal uploading software on your computer. People have been sued by the BPI for uploading.

GeraldGiraffe · 14/09/2005 17:14

lucy5- it is illegal though so i wouldn't mention it online

lou33 · 14/09/2005 17:18

Isn't limewire one of the sites being specifically targetted wrt cracking down on file sharing.More so than some of the other sites i mean? Think i read it somewhere...

MrsSpoon · 14/09/2005 17:21

Would be very sus of any site letting you download for free.

DaddyCool · 14/09/2005 17:24

close your curtains and lock your doors lucy5. if someone comes to your door, don't answer it.

stepbackfromthepc · 14/09/2005 17:35

Limewire may be free but beware, big time. I know of someone who received a writ asking for thousands, they didn't realise they had been doing anything wrong.

DaddyCool · 14/09/2005 17:36

scary isn't it. unless you're really up on these things, how are you to know!

lucy5 · 14/09/2005 17:38

OMG, I had no idea!

lucy5 · 14/09/2005 17:42

do you think I should have my post deleted or am I overreacting?

foxinsocks · 14/09/2005 17:46

you don't need to have it deleted - just don't use it! You can listen to radio stations on the net - just google the station name.

I have managed to do something in Norton that has stopped my husband using Limewire (much to my delight!)

DaddyCool · 14/09/2005 17:49

yeah, internet radio is great. i listen to my hometown radio station right here in the UK and it's kind of weird and nostalgic.
