What are the best colour floor tiles for not showing marks?

Im redecorating the kitchen and need to decide on some floor tiles. Its the first time ive ever bought any and wondered which would be the best to go for. Id like some that would ideally look cleaner for longer. At the moment we have beige lino which needs mopping all the time.

I have a pale laminate floor which also needs cleaning all the time so I'm thinking of a kind of swirly camouflage pattern in dark brown, dark green and black No? I'm just resigned to the fact now that my kitchen floor always looks like it could do with a clean.

Brown marble effect

We have coloured Indian slate which varies from pink through to dark grey, with some interesting natural patterns.

The ones ive seen so far that I like are either pale creamy colour with a speckle or dark grey slate colour ones. Just dont know which ones to go for.

am getting a sort of blue grey tile effect laminate - lots nicer than it sounds, and cheap. i've also currently got beigy (wood effect) vinyl which always looks filthy.

Hello, my friend has cherry units & fake slate floor with looks nice...but you need the light on all the time as the dark floor absorbs all the light. Another pal has maple units, bigger kitchen window & the slate looks fine.

We have light (creamy beige) ceramic tiles - nice & light. I'd say both show the dirt as much as each other

ours weren't expensive (hate that word it's to subjective)

so you may get them at a good price but dp laid them himself which was a lbour of love
