I want to write to a politician about sport for kids ...

Who do I write to?

I feel passionate about getting kids active, and I don't think current initiatives are reaching the kids inactive kids, or the soon to be inactive kids. The ones who are not sporty and athletic, the ones who are badly co-ordinated, without the potential to be particularly good at any sport at all.

Search for local county council and look on their web site to see if they have a 'sports minister' type person?

Or write to MP? Throwing out ideas here, can you tell?

Minsitry of sports, culture and something else

Great - thanks very much both of you for the prompt response.
I have struck whilst the iron is hot and fired off emails to some names I found on the county website, and to the Ministry of sports.

You could contact Sport England or check out their website (if in England).

Thanks again dizzymama. I have already had a helpful and positive brief response from the County sports people, with promise of further information and details in the future.

I'd suggest you write to your MP, asking that they forward your letter to the appropriate minister. If you do this, you will get a response, signed off by a government minister.
