Having to pay £129 every 3 years to be able to practise as a nurse. This isn't insurance, I pay well over £150 a year out for that to another body. This is just to be able to be a nurse in this country and look after patients. The police don't have to pay, they get free transport too - better pension, quicker retirement... Feeling ver bitter and angry

(Edam, just got DH GP "gossip papers and apperently the average earnings are for full time partners.....)
BTW, if someone would travel by train (paying £40)to somewhere else in the UK to see parents for a long weekend, once a year, consider it as an extravagance???

Are you talking about me?

no Flossam not really, but just want to illustrate that there are 2 or more sides to 1 story. If someone would hear about me paying for 3 holidays one might think "wow". But 2 are for my sister who, as mentioned, always manages to make me feel guilty , ending me paying for her holiday flights (she stays with family/me or friends) She is the one who lives off benefits. She does however make a lot of clothes for my children (not the most practical clothes so some are never used). The 3rd holiday I paid for was for me to see my dad. Flights nowadays are often cheaper than trains, so all 3 were "only" £40.. I visit him once a year, he comes over to see me once a year.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings about my family. Even just a phone call from any of them p...es me off....

Phew. Having just recently returned from a long weekend with my parents on a train costing precisely £40 I was beginning to think you knew me... The closest I have got to a holiday though.
