Trying to help convince my elderly grandpa to come back to the uk from spain. Have looked at right move and find a property. I know there are others, but what are they called? Can anyone help at all? xx

Doh, pressed post and then noticed that you'd already been there.

What about primelocation

GeorginaA · 01/09/2005 19:52

DOH ... sorry Flossam ... trust me not to read the post properly.

Not only that but I ended up browsing the site looking for my dream home and didn't check back on the thread

Flossam · 01/09/2005 19:53

Thanks Bran. I'm not turning up much, really. I tried your PL (Haven't seen that one before, thanks!) but nothing came up. They are looking in quieter rural places so not much about really. They are ederly and isolated out in Spain (should never have gone) Stuck with a house they can't sell with faling health (he's 80). Mum's worried sick and they really should come home. They keep changing their mind about coming, staying, coming. I would love to find somewhere that would be too good for them to refuse!

It's my property porn... can't go near a property site without looking at houses I wouldn't be able to afford even if I won ten lotteries...

Terrible really.

Anyway... rental properties!

Rentamatic

Property Finder

Pastures New

Any good?

hi flossam,
which area is your grandpa looking in? if its not far from where we are,my brother might be able to find him something.he runs a letting agency.hope you are all well.

Magscat · 01/09/2005 20:32

Fish4homes

Is he looking just in the private rented sector or would he consider Social Housing?

Councils and Housing Associations will have their own websites as do most decent sized Estate Agents and Lettings Agents these days.

Does he have a particular area in mind?

Flossam · 01/09/2005 21:08

HI thanks you two. He's looking in Worcestershire and Norfolk, in two quite particular areas. He also wants a bungalow and for not much cash. He's being very particular, and I don't think he's going to get all that he wants.

Bubbaloo, I owe you an email - your away soon aren't you? Will mail you, hope you are all well too! xx

try googling for the area and 'rented accomadation/housing association etc..that might get you closer??hth

Magscat · 01/09/2005 21:16

I just did a search on 'norfolk lettings' and got this:

Norfolk Lettings

Norfolk Property

I'm sure you could do similar searches and see what comes up.

If you want any social housing advice give me a shout - I work for an HA - though not in Lettings and not in the areas you mentioned.

PeachyClair · 01/09/2005 21:18

Do make the effort to contact directly though, we registered with loads before moving here, including all the biggies, an got nowhere. It was only when we actually went in or phoned they started to contact us.

bubbaloo · 01/09/2005 22:30

Flossam-we're all very well thanks and looking forward to going away on the 10th.

Flossam · 03/09/2005 19:07

I've got an extra day in work this week (an exam - eek!), you're just away for the week aren't you? Shall we try and meet when you get back?
