...what am I gonna do, I'm gonna get that slug etc etc.

It or they appear at night usually when I am bog eyed tired and fed up with a small child.

How do they get in and what do I do with them?

Don't stand on it with just your socks on - Not nice, talking from Experience

GeorgieVickyLou · 30/08/2005 14:25

Poor salt all over the floor so they melt - that'll teach'em to mess with you

myturn · 30/08/2005 14:26

Phone the fire brigade! At least then some good would come out of a disgustingly traumatic situation.

monkeytrousers · 30/08/2005 14:27

Get a piece of card and put it in the garden. Don't cover it in salt, it's a horrible death!!!

monkeytrousers · 30/08/2005 14:27

poor slug, only trying to find a way out..

GeorgieVickyLou · 30/08/2005 14:28

Get a hedgehog - they eat slugs don't they??

oliveoil · 30/08/2005 14:29

Why do they appear at night? I don't do anything with them as I am busy with dd2 or whoever has got me out of bed but I would shove them in back in the garden otherwise.

Do they squeeze through tiny gaps?

We have a hedgehog!!! - DS1 spotted it in the yard the other night! It panicked and tried to get into a flowerpot from the bottom end but we hope it is living under our shed; anyway I have always used salt or pellets before but don't dare now in case the hog eats them.

OO, I get slugs in the kitchen too - I think they get in through the airvents and lurk under the cabinets - I have sprinkled a tiny few pellets at the corners where the trails are and it stops them for a while. Obviously with little kids you'll need to put some down at night and sweep up again next morning.

bakedpotato · 30/08/2005 14:39

This morning I saw those silvery tracks all over the peaches in the fruit bowl [nausea] -- enough to make me reach gaily for the slug pellets. Leave out a saucer overnight, enjoy the death throes the next morning over the Weetabix.

No fricking idea where they get in.

oliveoil · 30/08/2005 14:40

VOM!

Will they wriggle all over my plates and stuff in the cupboards?

Double vom.

Or put some beer down and they'll drown in a happy drunken daze - is that kinder?

Slugs are LOATHSOME
