Does anyone know anything about the history of 'Sindy" doll?

I have a Sindy wardrobe which is white with red doors. I think it may be 60's or 70's because of it being red. I played with Sindys in the mid to late 70's and the furniture was always pink and white.
Are there any older mums out there who remembers Sindy in the 60's?

Yes my sister and I got a Sindy each in 1964, mine was blonde, hers brunette. We had loads of clothes for them but never had more than one Sindy. We did have Patch each though (Sindy's little sister). I had mine until about 10 years ago when I gave her to my sister's daughter who didn't have many toys.

My dad actually made us a wardrobe for their clothes and painted it white.

I have just been to the website and found my old Sindy for 1973 (1st row 2 col) some of the outfits from the following 6 years are also pictured their. The wedding dress (1979) in fact has just been found in my parents loft I still thinks she looks better than the competition. I also had a kitchen cabinet and a horse for her not much else though

Thanks everyone!
I've just seen the ballerina sindy which was my first one ever as a little girl!
I remember playing with them right up until i was 14. I still have clothes that I used to sew together for them! That incidentally is what led me to my chosen career as a pattern cutter!!

I have two little girls of my own now and I've bought a load of vintage stuff at boot sales but it's me that plays with them!

Looked at those links and found the dolls that my sister and I had, the 1963 Sindy in Weekenders ie. stripy top and jeans. Didn't realise she only came out in 1963 so we were really trendy then!
We had all the fab 60's clothes, PVC miniskirts, psychedelic pattern shift dresses, air hostess uniform etc.

My sister had the horse and all the riding gear.
