DH is taking DD 2y 9m to visit his brother in Hove for two days. Looks like rain is forecast for tomorrow at least. Does anyone have any suggestions for indoor activities in Hove or Brighton?

Aquarium?

Aquarium sounds good. It's supposed to be a good one there isn't it?

Anything else?

Westows is good but does get a bit rammed on wet school hoidays. Both Brighton and Hove museums are excellent - Hove has a particularly good Wizards Attic kids section that my 2 year old loves. Theres also a good toy museum underneath Brighton station thats great if your little one's into trains. If the weathers good he'll have a whale of a time at the beach or this coming Sat and Monday afternoons there's a lovely model rail ride in Hove park.

The museum sounds good. I was wondering if there was a child-friendly museum in the locality.

Is Hove museum near the shops in Hove?

Its only a little bit further. Short walk from George Street, but the number 1 bus drops you right outside. Buses in Brighton are fab by the way, they're very frequent and we can wheel buggies right on.

Yes I know. We once took the bus into Brighton from Hove and I was impressed by the easy access.

So, the number 1 bus? OK - I'll let DH know - although he may walk.

The Booth museum is great on Dyke Road opposite Dyke Road Park. It's great on a day to day basis, and also has special activities for children sometimes. It's also opposite a swing park and a cafe, which is convenient.

but dont go to the booth if like me you have a bird or taxidermy phobia

beatie · 24/08/2005 20:01

Thanks - I have printed off the map.
