i didn't know where else to put this, but DD2 (nearly 7 wks) seems to cry when she is fart or needs to fart. its only been happening for the past 10 days and it feels really odd to me. we try to burp her as much as we can before putting her down.

is this normal and how can i help her?? currently giving her infacol during the evening feeds in case she has colic....

I would say it is totally normal, blossom. Ds does this - screws his face up, pulls up his knees, screams then lets rip - even when he is asleep. Their intestinal tracts are so tiny it must be quite uncomfortable to get the wind out. Both dds were the same at this age IIRC.

agree with miaou it is normal. a lot of babies do this.
might just be because it feels so odd!

i remember this with ds1 - we used to joke that he'd never be a rugby player if farting upset him! i'd completely forgotten about it until i read this thread, so i guess it just goes away!

oh, and yesterday he suddenly piped up "you do farts, don't you mummy"
