give permission to dp/dh to do things? I notice a lot of threads here being should i shouldn't i allow dp to.....
Is it just the way the written language makes it sound, or do people really live in a world where they have to have each others 'permission'.

Or am i just a bit too laid back?

How did he know your name was Edam ?

Its not that me and dp stuff what each other think, but we are very independent and wouldn't want to stifle each other at all. We trust each other to make sensible decisions about money and we tell each other straight away about any plans made, so the other one doesn't plan to go out the same day etc.
But we don't feel we have to discuss everything because that would stifle us. Guess its down to each personality.

We don't ask permission to do thigs, but we do discuss each other's plans (when don't involve one another - not that often anyway) and check it is okay with one another. Mainly as we have to ensure there'll be someone to look after DD, and just out of 'niceness' to each other I guess.

I agree with hulababy. How can you respect a so called partner when your relationship is like that ie having to treat the other like a child?
