Just been reading a thread about families with 3 kids and the mums on it are joyfully saying how noisy and busy and chaotic their homes are ... and I thought "so is ours and we only have one!"

So if yours is a one child home is it calm and tidy or is it busy and noisy? And what is your only doing this Easter?

Yes loud. I thought all children were loud though.

Dd (3) and I have two weeks off together. We'll be visiting people, taking a day trip to Glasgow and going to see Monstor V Aliens this week. Haven't thought yet about next week.

As for Easter....
We are going to go to go to a wedding (dd is bridesmaid) and then afterwards Milk and I are going to stay with my parents. I am very very excited because my lovely Mum has arranged for us to visit a farm to feed lambs (nostalgic emotion)!

DD's nursery is open as usual over the Easter break (apart from bank hols) so she'll be there for 3 half day sessions. I'm getting over my aversion to having playdates at our house so have arranged a couple of those. We've got relatives and godparents coming too and a sleepover next week with her cousins.

Will try to go to the Charlie & Lola exhibition at Nottm castle - if we haven't already missed it!

It was noisy and chaotic when ds was a toddler, now he is 4.8 and it is very calm and quiet. We are ttc number 2 so I am hoping it will return to noisy and chaotic soon!

We alternate between crazy jumping/dancing to lovely quiet sitting when painting or tv!

Next weekend is my ds 6th birthday, so i am preparing this ! Can you believe that he doesn't want a party - he wants to go swimming, mini golf and watch Monsters vs Aliens

I said that he could have a party if he wants, but he seems absolutely convinced that his guests will eat his birthday cake

Other than this we will try and fit in visit to grandparents, train trip and homework! Oh, and lots of swimming, he loves this.

I am extremely very keen on Milk falling actually really truly in love with Charlie and Lola - but currently she is in love with Popeye The Sailor Man [rolls eyes emotion] and Mamma Mia [rolls eyes emotion x100]!

I think the noise and chaos starts with the first child, too. Second and subsequent children add to that, perhaps, but I doubt whether the chaos doubles or trebles!

I have to admit that I don't think my house is ever really chaotic (unless completely overrun when having a big summer bbq or Christmas or something), but it certainly gets noisy.

I have one ds (5.2). This morning the house was v calm. Just us two, so we did various things including some 'money' games (ds is learning to count and total small change) lego, sorting go-gos and some cooking. We now have another 5 year old friend here, and the noise level has certainly gone up! But then they are charging around playing some complicated "hunters and spies" game dressed as superheroes with wooden swords and handbags.....

Over Easter we're visiting my sister (who has a toddler and is due with 2nd pretty soon), and we'll have a mixture of days with lots of children here, and lots of playing 'out' (very sociable cul-de-sac), some days out (off to the zoo tomorrow with a school friend) and some quieter days with just us. Mixture really.

Definitely busy and noisy. In fact DH had to have a word with me about it yesterday as it was 'doing his head in' I had TV up too loud as I'm a bit deaf, DS was doing the 'jungle book' elephant patrol on all fours singing all the wrong words at the top of his voice. DS never shuts up. I'm one of three and my home was much quieter when I was growing up - I guess it depends on the personality of the kids you get. My god, what if I'd had three who were all like DS??? Pass the chocolate someone, I feel faint...

I have one dd nearly 4 and she can be quite noisy also very prone to dropping this and that everywhere like little stumbling blocs for us

over Easter dd will still be going to her 3 half day sessions at nursery, then we will go on holiday in early May, just realised that with dd starting Reception class in September we will tied up to school holidays

and btw to those with one child am finding that holiday accommodation seem to be for larger families to make it financially viable, but we don't really want to share, it ends up being cheaper going for hotels rather than most nice self catering

We are a family of me, DH and DS. Our house is noisy, messy, comes across as an amusement arcade mostly. The house is lived in and very full IYKWIM

Last weekend DS went to a friends house. They have 3 DCs and the house was perfect, no signs of chaos or anything. I have to say I did get rather jealous

I get home and think 'Our house will never be like that' but It's home and it's happy and it's ours and I love it.

Better put the stamp kit away and do another activity with DC. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee

Our house is chaotic but not very noisy. But then it was chaotic before DS came on the scene - he hasn't really made much difference except that some of the chaos now falls into the under-2 category, which we didn't have before.

I think DH would prefer there to be less Stuff in the house but he isn't bothered about pristinity and is pretty untidy himself.

We are happy - although we probably need a bigger house with more cupboard space!

Sorry - forgot the Easter bit - DS is only 16mo so he's not got anything on. Probably a visit to Grandpa to collect his Easter egg but that's about it, I'd say, in terms of Easter-specific activity.

So far we have visited the park and collected tadpoles while swimming the our bath ducks, watched trains at the station, gone to Lidl (one of dd's favourite activities , had two lunches out including one picnic. We will be going to the seaside, a funeral and MonkeyWorld. And DH is going to build a treehouse .

Sadly can't beat Tea's sock on the curtain pole for bohemian casualness, but DD has just brought a strange object to me for identification and it turns out to be a guinea pig poo.

It varies, sometimes it is very noisy and chaotic and silly and fun; other times we have calm, quiet times. Both are lovely at different times Wouldn't realy want either situation all the time.

Easter hols?

DD has already had a week off, and two more to go.

Last week I was still at work mornings so DD went to friends houses in the mornings and to my parents Wed night-Friday.

Then Friday to Monday we have been at Centre Parcs with my parents; got back this afternoon. It was DD's 7th birthday on Sunday so we ceebrated there.

DD has a sleep over at a friebd's house on Thursday night - 4 of them!!! Have wished the mum luck, lol.

Have a few things planned to meet up with friends over the next two weeks.

atm no as ds is in barcelona but usually and for all his life really it has been a busy chaotic fun place.Friends relatives parties take aways xmasses and sleepovers galore.

certainly can be. I had people round to look at teh house this very rainy afternoon, they were looking for a family house- well ours had me and boy and boys frend and boys frends mum in it at the time. I managed to keep most of teh house tidy for the veiwing but gave up on the living room. lego and cars on floor with a a flowery sheet and a road mat, two small boys snuggled up on a sofa with a mum for a story. a tractor on teh dining table along with assorted craft materials. SLightly fewer books strewn about than normal. RIGHT now I can only see 6 books and 1 map not on shelves, pretty good for here.

All is peaceful, quiet and tidy in the Banana household.

Guinea pig poo was dried and non-smelly.

We have noise and chaos, but I think that is only partly due to Daisyboy

So far this morning we have had marching and dancing (in particular a special "poo dance" - we are potty training )

Daisyboy talks non stop so the noise is high, plus the radio and CDs etc and the chaos, well I wish I could put it all down to him, presently we have books all over the ground floor ("tidying") and a chest of drawers in pieces on the landing

For Easter we are going to friends from Friday to Sunday (age of kids from 4 months to 16!) and then family for Friday and local friends Monday.

Then back to work for me

We've just got back from a day of Kulcher in London - the V&A and Science Museums. With a mere 100,000 other children.
