We always used to holiday with parents when ds was little and therefore there were lots of playmates. He is now 13 and wants to be around people his own age. He makes friends easily and is quite outgoing. I don’t really want the responsibility of taking a friend on holiday for a week. Please could you let me know if recommendations in UK or abroad where holidays have worked well with onlies thanks!

I haven’t done it myself but friends swear by cruises with only children. Obviously you need to do your research as not all cruise lines provide the same (and I am in Australia so recommendations won’t be relevant), but apparently there is so much to do all the time that the kids are never bored.

My only is 12 and has enjoyed Rome, Athens, Egypt, Jordan, Bali and Japan!

Places with lots going on historically, with a good mix of tourists and he's happy. We will do a couple of day/walking tours normally that are geared towards family.

intrepid do teen tours that might have a group of the same aged kids to go along with.
