There are no local groups etc I have found to like. Everything I have tried, I've still been isolated as mums seem to go in groups with each other....

Sorry I'm late replying. Have you tried the library (who might have baby groups) and children's centre? There might be other groups you haven't tried yet. You could ask other mums what other groups they go to as a conversation starter. Keep trying! Some might seem unfriendly but others might be feeling just like you and be glad you spoke first. I found I felt more at ease after going to a group a few times (every week if possible) as I started to recognise people and them me. I often still had to "dare myself" to initiate conversation. But DD enjoyed herself too. It was nice to get out of the house sometimes.

Option 2: sign up to Mush or Mummysocial apps. They have meet ups or you can message other mums.

How about swimming pool or soft play?

I was a mum with no Mum friends and my DD was probably almost 1 before I found some lovely friends. I kept trying classes and different groups and activities on at library's and after persevering I did find some lovely people that weren't already in a Mum group!

I did have a few disasters along the way of being made to feel most unwelcome - I just had to grow some thick skin and remember that everything I was doing was for my DD.

I don't know the Newcastle area so can't help with that, but keep going to things and I'm sure you'll find some lovely Mum friends soon

I’ve met some of my best friends on a Facebook mum group! We now meet regularly and our children adore each other :) it’s worth putting yourself out there.
