my 1st child will be 1 soon new baby hmmm?

My daugter is coming uo to 1 year old in 2 months time, me and partner have decided we would like to have a second child but want them close together. If we start trying the month after her birthday she will be around 2 when baby would be here im worried she wont get the attention she needs and her reaction to a new baby anyone have children that are close in age im just after some advice.

I think that at such a young age, it becomes the norm very quickly.

At 2 yrs of age, it won't take long before your DC1 forgets that she was ever the only child you had. As they grow, they'll probably be lots of rivalry, but I doubt you'd have problems with your DD1 thinking she's missing out on your attention.

Others might disagree, though.

There are good numbers of reasons to keep children close together. They can grow together and be a constant companion for each other. However, at the same time, the closer in age your children are the harder work it is in the early months and years. Initially, DD1 could be jealous about sharing you with her sibling, but the advantage of her being young when she had sibling is that DD1 will not remember life without a sibling and she may learn early about sharing and thinking about others.
Make sure you include her with things like getting new baby’s room ready and talking about names. You always want her to be excited and not resentful.
