i am/was very happy with nursery.....the staff are lovely, dc progressing well, planned for dc3 to go to same nursery.

However all the good lovely loyal staff workers are either leaving or thinking of leaving, citing that the main boss is the problem with her unreasonable behaviour. I've been told she shows little consideration for her employees and only cares about money. Boss must be quite bad as some of the workers are quitting with no jobs to go to yet....
Plus the boss dismissed her Manager over something fairly trivial recently.

Not sure what to do?......do i not get involved and hope it blows over and that no more of the good people leave and/or hope the replacements are just as good.......

or.......

write an anonymous diplomatic letter to the boss detailing that she should look at her managerial manner and emphasise that the staff members are critical to good nursery care, and parent satisfaction.

Not really wanting to get involved, but as a Manager myself, find it worrying that this boss is not remotely worried that her good team are deserting her.

Plus worry my dc will not get continuity of care.

As a parent, i feel it is the PEOPLE you leave your kids with that are the most important....once you find a good team, you want to keep them. If more staff leave I may feel obligated to switch nurseries, even though less convenient to do so.

Should i write the letter or not?

Hello - this sounds like exactly the same problem I am having at my nursery at the moment. I am now looking for alternative childcare as my faith in the nursery is based on the Nursery Manager and the lady who runs the baby room. Please contact me privately as for some reason I am not able to contact you.

sonsmum · 22/06/2010 13:11

hi: does the managers name start with e? and the baby room girls name start with c?
If so, suspect we are talking about the same nursery....
I cannot contact you either as am not signed up to the facility that allows it.....
If we are talking about the same nursery, am sure we will be able to cross paths.....

we are talking about the same nursery. I had a very long and concerning conversation last night about what is going on there and would like to get the views of some other parents. I have changed my settings in my account so I think I can be contacted now. I will try and contact you again.

I've just realised that this is a pay service -that is the problem. Yes hopefully our paths will cross.

Could you afford to hire one of the lovely staff members as a nanny?

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 22/06/2010 13:52

By the way, one of you could set up a free anonymous email account at (for example) live.co.uk or gmail.com and then post that address here for the other to contact you.

I have [email protected] set up for just that purpose when I want Mumsnetters to be able to email me files etc. (although I do have CAT).

sonsmum · 22/06/2010 15:06

mjp77....are you picking up today?....what time?
i normally pick up around 5.15 but can be flexible.
Did you want to meet up in the area between the 2 security gates at pickup today?
If so, I'll tell you what i will be wearing so you can spot me.

good idea about alternative email professor.....
i have set up this email address to discuss further with mjp77 and any others affected;
[email protected]

Perhaps best not to discuss anything further in a public forum.
