childcare in furzedown/tooting?

We had a great childminder when we lived further up Streatham Hill but now live substantially further away and don't have a car (in fact push bikes with toddler in a sling to and from childcare!) and so looking for somewhere new nearer to home.

We can just about afford the £48/day currently paid but need somewhere open until at least 6:30pm due to the nature of our respective jobs

Any ideas at all?!

Hello, I have an idea. It's for a nursery though not a childminder. Not sure if you'd consider a nursery but we live in Furzedown and my DD is going to a nursery just on the way to Tooting Bec tube station. It's the Lookig Glass Nursery, open from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm, daily rate is around what you mention. Good luck! (goes without saying that my DD is happy there, otherwise I would not have mentioned it)

GWMH
There is a childminder we were going to go for and she lives in Furzedown/Tooting area. She was really nice and has a large garden with allotment at the back, great setting for kids. Her name is Tania Ross and she is on Wandsworth list of childminders. This was nearly a year ago so not sure if she has any spaces but she is definitely worth contacting.

The only reason we didn't take up her offer of a place was that we decided that we really needed a live-in childcare to suit our needs.

Good luck!

Hi
I'm Tania and although I do have vacancies in Oct I don't usually work until 6.30pm. Thanks very much for the referral though! Cheers

Hi Tania,

I am looking for a childminder for my son sebastian when I go back to work at the end of april beginning of may 2011. He will roughly 5-6 months old then. It will be for monday to thursday 8.30-5pm roughly and I am based on greyswood street in Furzedown.

If you do have any availability I would be keen to find out more from you and potentially meet.

Louise Jervis.
