How long before leaving do I need to notify the nursery? In order to get the deposit back, if DC where to leave after June, should I tell them in April or in May? Or much earlier? I wonder if there are specific rules or it's each nursery making their own... I don't want to tell them too early as I fear they may change their way of treating DS. Or am I a but paranoid?...

The notice period should be stated in your contract.

a "but paranoid" sounds like somebody with serious body issues. I meant a bit paranoid.

thank you Lubyloo, I fear that the contract is lost in the kingdom of bits and pieces that is my paperwork cupboard. But I will have to try harder!

I think we have to give a month's notice which I should imagine is pretty standard.

If there's a waiting list then it might be nice if you gave more notice so someone might know a place is coming up, but you shouldn't in any way feel obliged to if you don't want to.

thank you shonaspurtle, that sounds very sensible
