Hi there, I'm a newbie to mumsnet. I've just started researching nuseries for our son, Ethan. Anyone got any experience of those in and around Tooting Bec/Balham?

Many thanks,
Beth.

Hi LondonBeth,

Am a newbie too, so hello!
My daughter (or DD as seems to be used here) is going to the Looking Glass Nursery in Tooting Bec. She's been there since July 09 and seems to be very happy. They cater for 3 months to 5 year olds and provide nappies, formula and meals prepared on site.
Am careful recommending anything as everyone's different, but had a good feeling about the nursery 1st time I visited and so far have not been proved wrong.
Good luck!

I believe there is a branch of my DC's nursery in Tooting Bec/Balham - Eveline on Ritherdon Road? One of my son's teacher's son goes to that branch as she is not allowed to have her DC at the nursery she works.

My DCs go to the Wandsworth branch and I have nothing but praise for it. It's wonderful - all the staff are lovely and there's a good mix of age and experience. The facilities are fab, the activities are varied and interesting, behaviour management is excellent, food is cooked on site and delicious, parental involvement is very very good and now DS is pre-school he is being taught to read, write and do simple maths. All in all I love this nursery and so do my children. It's expensive but worth every penny.

Hope this helps.

Hi - (my 1st post!) I just wanted to know wether anyone has sent their child to Eveline on Ritherdon road and their experiences? I have been looking at a few in Balham (Eveline, Bright Horizons, Asquith) and getting really confused...anybody have any advice on these nurseries?
Thanks.

Hi. My DD is at Bright Horizons (was "Teddies") in Balham. She has always been very happy there, and they have a great staff team. My DS also went there for 4 years and was always very happy - he made some super friends and the staff still welcome him with open arms.
I've heard good things about Eveline too, tho I think it's a different type of nursery - possibly with parents intending to educate their children at Eveline in the primary years.
Good luck with the decision!

DD is at Baby Room in Balham. We are very happy with the care she receives there. The staff are fantastic, and led by a dedicated, enthusiastic manager who nurtures a real community feel around the nursery making parents feel part of the nursery. Can't recommend them highly enough.
