Christmas gift for nursery - is this done? What to get?

My DS1 goes to a great nursery, and I want to thank the staff there by giving them a gift.

Thing is, he doesn't have one special key worker, and I can't really single out one or two staff members who are particularly special (although it would be lovely to get something personal!)

What can I get the staff in his room? I thought a tin of biscuits or chocolates, but it's not very original, and they don't get to have lunch/teabreaks together!

Any ideas? They're all female staff except for one.

We gave the staff a big tin of Roses. They were very appreciative, and said that they put them in the staffroom, and get to have chocs and biscuits for ages

I'm afraid I did the tin of sweets . DD is only there one a day a week and, after consultation with my mother who worked in a nursery school for donkey's years, she said that they do get lots of sweets and biscuits but they tended to open a couple of tins to nibble at work and then divvy up the rest and all all take them home, which sounds good to me.

There was some comment about them 'putting them with all the others' when DH handed it over but sod it. I never got a present at work!

I've put a whole load of bath bombs and mini hand creams into a Christmas bag for them all - hopefully it will go down well!

meep brilliant! That's what I'll do - it's lovely and just a little bit different. (Without breaking the bank!)
Thank you - I'll rip off your lovely idea at lunchtime and appear really cool and together in north Wales!

*Should add there's nothing wrong with tins of sweets - I'm a regular partaker!

Meep - Bath bombs etc - that is a marvellous idea! [MrsBaldwin rushes off to Lush to get some]

meep · 17/12/2009 13:43

sorry ladies, had to go out!

I got the bath bombs from Sainsbury's (reduced to £1 at the time) and mini handcreams from Superdrug which were on 3 for 2

I normally go for a tin of biscuits as well - but appear to have been inspired this year ........only 4 more years to keep it up!!

tattycoram · 18/12/2009 11:07

Meep I wish I'd thought of that, what a great idea.

mrsbaldwin · 30/12/2009 19:26

Meep - I did get a box of goodies from Lush, with enough bits in so that everyone could take something. This seemed to go down well so thank you for posting your very good idea!!
