applied for ds to start nursery with his free 3yr old hours. went to view a nursery a while ago, seemded ok, got good reviews from a few people so we went with that.

took ds last week for his starting day and we didn't like it. we want ed to use a school, not a private nursery, and we want ds to go to a c of e school as we activelt poractise our religion and attend church each week.(applications already habded in for that) but we are not bothered about a c of e nursery, we want this to focus on getting him used to being away from parents and getting used to a school environment. obviously, if you are reading this thread because you live in the area or know it, you'll be aware that these areas are multicultural, and we are fine wuth tha, we live in a very cross cultural area, talk to ds about what he calls 'funny churches' (mosques! he thinks they look fancy!) and wanted nursery to reflect this. but, last week, ds was the only 'white' (don't flame me for use of terms that some one thinks are offensive, i am really, really trying not to be as i'm upset by this) child in the nursery, and as the nursey staff told us, the current register is over 70% students who have english as a seciondary language. ds wasn't playing too well, and we want somewhere that he feels settled in and is mixed but more evenly mixed, so....

any one recommend a nursery to us as i am stumped and ds is really ready for nursery so don't want to withhold a place or hm not be going!

i would be grateful for any advice re this, thanks.

I'm not sure if you're in the Leeds postcode area but I contacted the family hub Leeds and they gave me great advice about childcare for DS.

I'm trying to think... Brownhills is a nursery in Birstall area. I've had family go there and they have been very happy.
